The Supreme Judicial Council issued Decision 15/2020 regarding the formation of the new courts for the year 2020-2021.

Chancellor Abdullah bin Hassan Al Buainain will be the President of the first district of the Court of Cassation.

The new formation will become effective in July 2020.

The Supreme Judicial Council has made a series of amendments to courts to ensure speeding up litigation procedures and achieving justice. They include adjudication of cases within six months, canceling annual judicial breaks and working throughout the year as part of a development and reorganization initiative of all courts.

Following the amendment of the Real Estate Tenancy Law 13/2020, the High Civil Court, the High Court of Appeal and the Court of Cassation can review rent cases.
