Noor bin Ali Al Khulaif, the Minister of Sustainable Development, took part in the Ministerial Meeting of the Coalition of Finance Ministers for Climate Action during the 28th Conference of the Parties of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28) in the United Arab Emirates.

The meeting centered on mobilizing public and private climate finance and fostering discussions on shared challenges. Minister Al Khulaif reiterated Bahrain's dedication to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) related to climate and ecosystems.

She highlighted Bahrain's national action plan, known as the "Bahrain Blueprint," which was unveiled by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. The plan underscores Bahrain's ongoing commitment to implementing initiatives and meeting its commitments to attain carbon neutrality by 2060.

Mumtalakat recently introduced two initiatives: "Safaa," a voluntary platform designed to offset carbon emissions by assisting individuals and businesses in understanding and managing their carbon footprint, and "Climate Solution Partners," a $750 million climate fund aimed at accelerating the transition to a zero-carbon economy with a focus on climate solutions.

Minister Al Khulaif underscored the importance of enhancing global efforts to address the impacts of climate change and reaffirmed Bahrain's adherence to the Helsinki Principles."
