On Tuesday, the U.S. automotive regulatory authority announced that Tesla will be recalling 54,676 Model X vehicles manufactured between 2021 and 2023. This recall is due to a potential issue where the vehicle controller might fail to detect low brake fluid levels, leading to the absence of a warning light.
Tesla has responded by issuing a free over-the-air (OTA) software update to rectify this problem, as confirmed by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
As of October 10, the regulatory authority reported that there have been no documented crashes, injuries, or fatalities associated with this particular condition.
Reuters sought a comment from Tesla, but the company did not respond immediately.
In August, the NHTSA initiated an investigation into 280,000 newly produced Tesla Model 3 and Model Y vehicles due to concerns about steering control and power steering issues.
