Bahrain Bourse (BHB), a licensed exchange sanctioned by the Central Bank of Bahrain, proudly announces the commencement of the 25th edition of the TradeQuest Program for the academic year 2023-2024. This innovative initiative, tailored for high school and university students, provides a practical understanding of investment trading in financial markets.
The program's launch event witnessed active participation from students, their school and university advisors, and investment mentors who play a crucial role in guiding and supporting the teams throughout the program.
A notable feature of the program is its competitive element, wherein teams engage in three trading periods and present their strategies, objectives, and performance to a panel of judges at the end of each period. The top three finalist teams from each category, totaling nine teams, stand to receive a collective prize of BD 30,000 in cash rewards.
"TradeQuest is one of our flagship financial literacy programs, perfectly aligned with a key pillar of our strategy focusing on enhancing financial literacy. We are committed to nurturing financial literacy as a crucial component of our ESG initiatives, aligning with SDG Goal 10. The program complements our suite of financial literacy initiatives, including the Smart Investor Program, the Investment Academy, and the Capital Markets Apprenticeship Program," stated Shaikh Khalifa bin Ebrahim Al-Khalifa, CEO of Bahrain Bourse.
Bahrain Bourse extends gratitude to its sponsors for TradeQuest this year. The program's Strategic Sponsor is The Labour Fund (Tamkeen). Platinum Sponsors include Ahli United Bank, Bank ABC, Khaleeji Bank, and National Bank of Bahrain. Gold Sponsors consist of Aluminium Bahrain B.S.C. (Alba), Ithmaar Holding, and SICO BSC (c). This year's TradeQuest Program features participation from 20 school teams, including representation from 10 private schools and 10 government schools. Additionally, seven universities are taking part in the program. Established in 1997, TradeQuest remains a pioneering educational partnership program with extensive support from the financial and educational sectors. It spans five months, divided into three progressive stages, offering students a practical experience immersed in the rules and regulations governing financial markets, enabling them to analyze and select shares and manage a diversified portfolio of equities listed on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), NASDAQ, and Bahrain Bourse.
