The Board of Directors of the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) convened its regular meeting under the chairmanship of Abdullah bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce, Acting Minister of Tourism.

During the meeting, various topics on the agenda were discussed, encompassing recent accomplishments in the tourism sector. Additionally, ongoing efforts in the implementation of current and upcoming tourism-related projects and events were reviewed.

The board also delved into the outcomes of a recent visit to China, where the Ministry of Tourism and the Chinese Ministry of Culture and Tourism signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at enhancing tourism cooperation. Further discussions centered on the results of meetings between the Authority and several leading tourism companies and tour operators in the Chinese market.

Dr. Nasser Qaedi, CEO of BTEA, provided an overview of key tourism indicators for the period spanning from July to September 2023. He also presented BTEA's plans regarding marketing and promotional activities for the tourism sector, along with updates on the business plans of various tourism facilities. Dr. Qaedi elaborated on a series of initiatives launched by BTEA in the third quarter of the year and the scheduled implementation of tourism and entertainment events and programs in the fourth quarter.

The meeting underscored the progress of several notable tourism projects in Bahrain, including Exhibition World Bahrain, and the intention to bolster the role of Vatel Bahrain - International Hospitality School to align with global developments and labor market needs.
