Dr. Nasser Qaedi, the CEO of the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA), took part in the Global Travel Hall of Fame, an event organized by Jacobs Media Group in collaboration with TheTreadRight Foundation during the World Travel Market (WTM) in London.

During the event, Dr. Qaedi highlighted Bahrain's thriving tourism sector, citing a notable rise in tourist numbers over the past year. He pointed out how this growth aligns with the ambitious tourism strategy of the kingdom for 2022-2026, projecting an anticipated influx of 14.1 million arrivals by 2026.

Additionally, he emphasized the sector's significant contribution to Bahrain’s GDP, the diversification of income sources, and its role in bolstering the national economy. Dr. Qaedi underscored Bahrain's plans to introduce a variety of tourism and entertainment programs, along with tailored incentives and packages targeting tourists from different regions, all aimed at enhancing the country's competitiveness and attracting a more extensive visitor base.

Acknowledging the strategic partnership between BTEA and Jacobs Media Group, the CEO stressed the importance of solidifying Bahrain's position in the global tourism landscape. He also announced the launch of targeted tourism events to promote Bahrain across global markets.

Dr. Qaedi engaged in various meetings with ministers and executives to bolster cooperation in tourism with other nations and organizations. He specifically met with Iceland's First Lady, Elisa Reid, to explore avenues for improving bilateral cooperation in the tourism sector and leveraging shared expertise and experiences in this burgeoning global industry.

Further, the CEO held a discussion session with Julia Simpson, President and CEO of the World Travel and Tourism Council, delving into topics concerning the sustainability of the tourism industry and its pivotal role in economic and human development.

Lastly, Dr. Qaedi and Edmund Bartlett, the Jamaican Minister of Tourism, discussed strategies to enhance cooperation in tourism and maximize the benefits through joint tourism promotions.
