Shaikh Khalid provided insights into Bahrain's alternative sanctions and open prisons program, which aligns with the principles of comprehensive development championed by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and supported by the government led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. He emphasized that the directives of the Interior Minister play a central role in implementing the Alternative Sanctions and Measures Law, including the provision of rehabilitation and training programs for beneficiaries. He also highlighted the collaborative efforts with community organizations and NGOs in the program's implementation.
The IACP President commended the training and community project with its ambitious vision for rehabilitation and community service. He also expressed the association's intention to present the project at its upcoming conference as a valuable international human rights initiative to learn from and leverage.
