Noor bint Ali Al Khulaif, Minister of Sustainable Development, held a meeting with Jean-Christophe Durand, Chairman of the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Bahrain (FCCIB). Jamal Mohammed Fakhroo, Deputy Chairman of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI), was also present at the meeting. Officials from prominent institutions, including KPMG Bahrain, BNP Paribas Bank, Fives Services Gulf WLL, Yousef Khalil Almoayyed & Sons, Majid Al Futtaim Group- Carrefour, International for Electrical Engineering (IEE), Gulf House Engineering (GHE), and SAFEER (Saudi French for Energy Efficiency & Renewable), as well as several Chamber members, attended the gathering.
During the meeting, the minister discussed Bahrain's efforts in achieving sustainability across various developmental, economic, environmental, and social sectors. She underscored the robust Bahrain-France relations in diverse fields, emphasizing the supportive role of commerce chambers in advancing institutional endeavors toward sustainable development. Al Khulaif highlighted Bahrain's commitment to diversifying its economy by fostering partnerships with the private sector, promoting entrepreneurship and innovation, aligning with Bahrain's Economic Vision 2030.
The minister praised the initiatives of institutions aimed at realizing Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including strategies for implementing the best Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance (ESG) practices. She also acknowledged initiatives aligned with the commitment to achieving zero carbon footprints and adopting renewable energy sources.
Durand commended Bahrain's efforts towards achieving SDGs and stressed the importance of continued collaboration across various sectors. Both officials affirmed that Bahrain's infrastructure and regulatory framework enhance the investment environment and support projects.
