The Ministry of Health, in cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), organised a training workshop entitled "Health Laboratory Quality," presented by Dr. Ateeq ur Rehman Memon, Quality Expert and Director General at Pakistan National Accreditation Council (PNAC) at the Ministry of Science and Technology in Islamabad.

The workshop covered the basics of quality management in medical and food laboratories and the technical requirements for ISO accreditation.

The Ministry of Health said these training workshops aim to enhance quality management in health laboratories and to develop national capabilities to provide the best diagnostic and monitoring services to enhance health security for citizens and residents of Bahrain.

The workshop came within the framework of the joint project between the ministry and IAEA, which aims to strengthen national capabilities to monitor environmental, food, and local and imported fish products.
