Jasem Mohamed Al Budaiwi, the Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), participated in the 19th edition of the Manama Dialogue Conference, also known as the "Regional Security Summit." This conference was organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Kingdom of Bahrain in collaboration with the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) and took place from November 17 to 19, 2023, in Manama.

Al Budaiwi highlighted the significance of hosting the regional security summit in Bahrain, underscoring the country's role in addressing political, defense, and security matters in both the Middle East and the wider world. He noted that the Manama Dialogue served as a platform bringing together senior international officials and experts to exchange ideas and formulate solutions for enhancing security, peace, and prosperity. The event also aimed to support sustainable development goals in the region and globally.

Expressing appreciation, the Secretary General commended His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for their royal patronage and the Bahraini government's ongoing efforts in hosting the Manama Dialogue since its inception in 2004. The conference's primary objectives include strengthening cooperation, fostering common understanding, and upholding regional and international security and stability.

Al Budaiwi stressed the significance of the Manama Dialogue in addressing political and security challenges affecting the security of the Middle East region, as well as the repercussions of global conflicts and disputes on the area. He also praised the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and IISS for their efforts in organizing the summit.
