Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, the Speaker of the Council of Representatives, expressed his admiration for the official visits conducted by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to the United Kingdom, Italy, and the Vatican. During these visits, discussions revolved around the strategic cooperation and relations between Bahrain and these nations, with a focus on ways to further enhance these connections across all sectors. The Speaker also acknowledged the contributions of the government, under the leadership of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in these efforts.
Al Musallam underscored that King Hamad's commitment to addressing the latest developments in Palestine and the Gaza Strip, particularly in the context of Israeli military escalations, emphasizes the principled stance of Bahrain in support of the Palestinian cause and the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people. This approach aligns with a broader vision aimed at achieving a just, sustainable, and comprehensive peace that would bolster security, stability, and prosperity within the region.
The Speaker highlighted that King Hamad's meetings with His Majesty King Charles III of the United Kingdom, senior British officials, His Holiness Pope Francis, Italian President Sergio Mattarella, and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, all aim to strengthen Bahrain's historical ties with these nations. They also contribute to endeavors aimed at establishing security, stability, and peace, with an emphasis on granting the Palestinian people their rightful rights and pursuing a just solution to the Palestinian issue based on the two-state solution as per the Arab Initiative. This solution should secure the Palestinian right to establish their independent state, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Al Musallam emphasized the significance of the meeting between King Hamad and Pope Francis in discussing collaborative efforts in the service of humanity, with a focus on promoting love and harmony, reinforcing global peace and stability, and condemning violence, the targeting of innocent civilians, and the protection of human rights in accordance with international laws and agreements.
He also noted that Bahrain and the Vatican share common noble values, with Bahrain launching numerous humanitarian initiatives and hosting global conferences aimed at fostering dialogue, mutual respect, tolerance, and religious freedom. The country plays a pivotal role in spreading elevated values due to its exceptional status as a haven of coexistence among adherents of diverse religions and a commitment to respecting the beliefs of others
