Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives, expressed that Bahrain's successful hosting of the "Manama Dialogue" for the nineteenth consecutive year reflects the approach of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa in supporting global endeavors for peace, security, stability, prosperity, and the fight against extremism, violence, and terrorism.

He commended the efforts of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in strengthening cooperation with nations, reinforcing principles of dialogue and partnership, and bolstering international security and stability.

Al Musallam underscored the significance of the Crown Prince and Prime Minister’s address at the opening of the "Manama Dialogue 2023," characterizing it as a voice of reason in addressing challenges, differences, and conflicts from a civilized, humanitarian, and forward-looking perspective.

The Speaker stressed the international community's obligation to prioritize the protection of innocent civilians in the Gaza Strip, cessation of war and violence escalation, and the establishment of urgent humanitarian corridors, aligning with the Crown Prince and Prime Minister's statements.

He emphasized the critical importance of strategic partnerships and alliances among Gulf countries to tackle regional conflicts and challenges, emphasizing the necessity for effective actions to ensure a secure and prosperous region.

According to the Speaker, regional parliamentary diplomacy aims to resolve conflicts by adhering to international resolutions, reinforcing humanitarian law, respecting state sovereignty, promoting tolerance, coexistence, peace, and renewing strategic cooperation formulas. Additionally, he highlighted the focus on new energy security policies.

Al Musallam pointed out that the Manama Dialogue, organized by the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS), serves as a platform for decision-makers, policymakers, and strategists to discuss urgent political, defense, and external security issues. He noted that the Manama Dialogue plays a crucial role as a platform for international rapprochement and integration, facilitating bilateral and multilateral meetings to address risks and enhance strategic capabilities.
