Nibras Mohammed Talib, CEO of the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) and Chairperson of the National Committee for Combating Trafficking in Persons, presided over the committee's third meeting.

The chairperson emphasized the crucial need for collaboration among various entities to adapt to labor market changes and bolster Bahrain's efforts in combating all forms of human trafficking.

He highlighted Bahrain’s continued ranking in (TIER 1) as per the U.S. Department of State’s assessment of countries combatting human trafficking. Bahrain retains its position as the first country in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region to achieve and sustain this ranking for the past six years (2018-2023).

The committee comprises representatives from various key entities including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Interior, Supreme Judicial Council, Public Prosecution, LMRA, Ministry of Social Development, Ministry of Information, Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments, and Ministry of Labour.

Additionally, it includes representatives from civil society institutions such as the Bahrain Human Rights Observatory (BHRO), Bahrain Association for Tolerance and Religious Coexistence (TaAyoush), and Bahrain Human Rights Society.
