Nibras Talib, the CEO of the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) and the Chairman of the National Committee for Combatting Trafficking in Persons, was present at an event honoring participants in the recent edition of the Training of Trainers Programme to Combat Trafficking in Persons.
This ceremony was organized by the LMRA's Regional Centre of Excellence and Capacity Building for Combatting Trafficking in Persons in collaboration with the International Organization for Migration (IOM).
The program saw the participation of fifteen individuals from various sectors and government agencies, including the media, healthcare, port and public security personnel, as well as inspection and criminal justice professionals.
The CEO emphasized the significance of enhancing the capacities of front-line personnel, particularly in the areas of identifying and recognizing victims and potential victims of trafficking in persons.
The training program comprised seven modules, covering training skills, understanding trafficking concepts and trends, legal frameworks, trauma comprehension, victim-centric care, victim identification and screening, psychological first aid, and working with interpreters.
LMRA, through its Regional Centre of Excellence and Capacity Building for Combatting Trafficking in Persons, is dedicated to elevating the skills and capabilities of various sectors through the Training of Trainers (ToT) program, with the goal of creating a pool of certified and qualified trainers.
This center serves as an expert and training hub for combating trafficking in persons in the region, employing effective intervention methods and enhancing the capacities of front-line workers from diverse fields involved in the identification of potential victims.
